CENTRAL LOCATION

The Central European position enables participants’ easy access and cost-effective transportation from all European countries.  Slovenia offers great possibilities for numerous tourist excursions due to the smallness and diversity of the area. Because of its Central European location, Slovenia is also very attractive for the pre and past Cups’ tours to Austria, Italy or to the Slovenian or Croatian coast.

EASY, FAST AND CONVENIENT ACCESS

Slovenia is situated in the heart of Europe, at the crossroads of Europe’s fifth and eleventh corridor. Slovenia borders Italy to the west, Hungary to the east, Austria to the north and Croatia to the south.
Because of Slovenia’s geographical position, access to the World Cup will be very easy, quick and cheap.
Anybody can easily reach Slovenia by air, train, bus or road.

It is strongly advised that participants fly to the ljubljana airport, which is an international airport only a 25-minute drive from Bled.

BY TRAIN OR BUS

Buses and trains to Slovenia run every day from numerous European cities.

BY CAR

Because of Slovenia’s central position in Europe, it is easily accessible by car.

BLED AND BOHINJ AS ACCESS POINTS

Bled and Bohinj are a world renowned alpine pearls which yearly attract many tourist from all over the world. Bled, Bohinj and their vicinity all offer many accommodation possibilities, that serve as the best starting point for fans. 

During the World Cup, sufficient parking space will be available for day visitors in Bled and Bohinj (see map below for details).

In Bled, a larger parking space for visitors’ cars will be provided at Bled Infrastructure, from where a shuttle service will be provided.

Cars and vans of visitors not parked in Bled will be directed to the regional road Mrzli Studenec-Gorjuše, where parking spaces will be provided on the right side of the road in the direction of Mrzli Studenec. From here, visitors will be transported to and from the event venue by bus.

For visitors staying in the Bohinj area, shuttle services will be organised from the accommodation facilities or from the bus stops at Jezero and Bohinjska Bistrica.

Together with Slovenian Railways, the “Go by Train” campaign will also take place, which will allow visitors from Slovenia to buy a World Cup ticket and be transported free of charge by train to the railway stations Lesce-Bled and Bled-Jezero, and from there to Pokljuka and back by the organiser’s shuttle services.

TRAFFIC REGIME TO THE VENUE

Due to the limited amount of parking space in the Pokljuka area and in order to ensure sustainable development, the OC Pokljuka will  arrange organised shuttle transport for daily visitors, colleagues, media representatives, invited guests and accommodated visitors in the Bled and Bohinj area.

 

Shuttle buses will be avilable from Bled, Bohinj and Mrzli Studenec according to the SCHEDULE.
