MEDIA INFO

Dear media representative, welcome to the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 2023 Pokljuka!

Pokljuka will host the IBU World Cup Biathlon again this winter, with the first competition in the new year 2023. Pokljuka has been the setting for many interesting biathlon stories over the past thirty years, and we invite you to report from one of the four most important international winter competitions in Slovenia again this year!

After the last two seasons with some restrictions and requirements due to Covid-19 in place, we are very much looking forward to a new season and hope that media operations will be back to normal.

Nevertheless, with the still ongoing pandemic, the situation can change very quickly, resulting in some new limitations. We will keep you informed about any changes in the “IBU Event Guidelines Infection Prevention” during the season. All the latest information and updates will be also always displayed here as well on the IBU website

NEW! I-Zones instead of World Cup Press Conferences

Starting from this season, IBUW will not conduct press conferences at the World Cups but have an “I-Zone” (interview zone) in all media centers. The Top 3 athletes will have separate sit-down zones and can be interviewed by the media after the competitions inside.

The mixed zone will remain and function as usual during the whole season.

We all believe that a new set-up with direct access to the athletes will help to create a more relaxed atmosphere and will provide more comfortable conditions for both: the media and the interviewee.

For safety measures and in order to protect yourself and the athletes, we kindly ask you to use masks in the I-Zone. We also recommend wearing masks while interviewing or talking to the athletes in the mixed zone.

Welcome to Pokljuka!
