Between December 19 and 21, 2025, the Triglav Pokljuka Sports Center once again hosted the FESA Alpine Cup in biathlon, organized by the Organizing Committee Pokljuka. This competition also opened the FESA Alpine Cup season this year. A total of 237 competitors from 15 countries registered for the competition, with 207 taking part. In addition to Slovenia, competitors from Australia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Spain, Estonia, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, Switzerland, Japan, Liechtenstein, Norway, Slovakia, and Poland took part.
Although the start of winter this year was not particularly favorable in terms of weather, with a lot of hard work and adjustments, we managed to prepare the tracks and ensure safe and high-quality competition conditions. This allowed the teams to complete their official training sessions and competitions in stable conditions, which enabled them to perform at a comparable level. The competition also served as an IBU regional event and counted towards qualification points.
The program included one day of official training and two competition days, during which four sprint races were held (two per day), separately for men and women. The competition took place in four age categories:
- men/women
- junior men/women (U21)
- Youth II men/women (U19)
- Youth I men/women( U17)
The most notable Slovenian result was achieved by Ivo Nagode in the U19 category, who took 3rd place in Saturday’s sprint and followed up with an excellent 2nd place on Sunday.
The organizer would like to thank all teams, coaches, delegates, and collaborators for their participation and fair cooperation. We are pleased that, even in challenging winter conditions, we were able to hold a high-level competition and thus successfully start the FESA Biathlon Alpine Cup season in Pokljuka.
