Borut Nunar turning 50 today

This year’s IBU World Cup races at Pokljuka will also stay in fond memory of Borut Nunar, the IBU World Cup Race Director, who is celebrating his 50th birthday today.

Congratulations on this important milestone are flying in from all directions, including a party with 100 guests on Wednesday that IBU and the Pokljuka Organizing Committee organized in his honour.

After a cross-country skiing career, from which Nunar remembers the most his 38th place at the World Cup race in the Fiemme Valley, he had also tested himself as a coach and in the ski service, later organizing races at Pokljuka, while for the last nine years he has been a functionary in the biathlon competition at the highest level.

“I feel excellent. I have been in sports all my life. I started cross-country skiing and luckily got into biathlon. For me, sport is a way of life, a hobby and a profession at the same time. I can hardly say that I could be even more satisfied than I am now,” says Borut Nunar, who will remain with IBU at least until 2022, and also continue to help with the preparation of the Pokljuka competitions.
