Biathlon as a sport.
Pokljuka as the heart of biathlon in Slovenia.
The World Cup Biathlon competitions as as our window to the world.
We are essentially committed to sustainable development1.
It is a commitment to sustainability which does not refer solely to environmental protection and a positive impact on society. It is about keeping things as they are – as authentic as possible and for as long as possible.
We want something that is relatively easy to understand, but quite challenging to fulfill.
We want things to last.
That’s why “Make it last” has become the central thought and guiding principle of everything we do in biathlon, in Pokljuka and Slovenia.
1Sustainable development means “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations”.
The definition of sustainable development was published by the United Nations World Commission on Environment and Development in 1987 in the report Our Common Future.
