Pokljuka - Rudno polje - 19.12.2009 Everybody for Teja
Girls will conclude busy Pokljuka weekend tomorrow with pursuit race. Among 60 biathletes we will only have one Slovenian. Teja Gregorin will have number 13 and we are not superstitious and hope it will be the lucky one for her.
“I really hope that it will be my lucky day tomorrow and that targets in standing position will fall as they did in prone in the last days. I will do my best and I will try to concentrate more on the shooting range,” said Teja, who will have support from her fans again tomorrow, as she had it all week in Pokljuka, where she finished in 9th and 13th place.
"Teja is very well prepared for the skiing part of the race. And she doesn’t have any problems in prone shooting. She proved that in both races in Pokljuka. I think number 13 is a good starting point for the pursuit race. With her current form she may be very high,” said Slovenian women’s team coach Tomaš Kos after today’s performance.
After the sprint race there was much more happiness in the Russian than in the Slovenian team. Russian coach Alexander Selifonov was of course smiling as he had two girls in top three. Russian biathlon specialist is very optimistic also for tomorrow: "I think we will repeat today's success. We need only about the same conditions we had today. Our competitors are excellent in difficult situations. And they proved that again today. Yes, tomorrow we will battle for the top again!"
The weather conditions should be again the best for Russians, we are expecting another very cold day. The lowest morning temperatures will be around -20°C, daily maximum around -12°C, and the wind will be weak.
