Pokljuka - 19.12.2009 Pokljuka until 2017 The President of International Biathlon Union Andres Besseberg announced on October 13 that Pokljuka will organise Biathlon World Cup races for the 2009/2010 season. During this competition he told us another good news. On the yesterday's International Biathlon Union evening at Hotel Center in Pokljuka he gave the President of Slovenian skiing association Stanislav Valant, and vice President of Organising committee Pokljuka Peter Zupan the A-licence for the organization of World Cup in Pokljuka until 2017. »In two months you did a lot, you prepared the races in Pokljuka very well. Everybody is very enthusiastic about the new sports center and I hope we will experience many great moments in Pokljuka in the future,« said Mr. Besseberg last night. Vice President of International Biathlon Union Ivor Lehotan was not modest in giving compliments either: »With the new center you have set a new milestone and new criteria for the World Cup organization. I would like to thank you on behalf of IBU for all the achievements in the field of biathlon. I am specialiy awarding the President of Organising Committee Pokljuka Dr. Ljubica Jelušič.« Pokljuka inspired everyone with its idyll and we will be able to host races at the highest level for at least another eight years.
