Pokljuka is ready for winter season

We are opening the winter season this saturday in the Sports Center Triglav Pokljuka. More than 35 centimeters of new snow and low temperatures were ideal conditions for the preparation of the tracks on one of the most picturesque plateaus in the Gorenjska region.

The begining of November was sunny and warm, but last week the temperatures dropped and it also snowed in the valleys. Pokljuka is situated mostly 1000 m above the sea level and is traditionally white sooner. Top athletes (biathletes and cross-country skiiers) were very happy about this fact. All those who have not already moved to Scandinavia or Russia have completed their last trainigs on snow here at Pokljuka.
From this Saturday on Pokljuka will be open to the public. The use of tracks at the season opening will be free (otherwise the tickets are 5 EUR for a daily ticket, 25 is a weekly and 75 a season ticket, discounts for students and seniors, kids up to 12 years ski for free), there will be a party with a DJ, tastings of food and sledding for childer.
You are kindly invited to be among the first to test the tracks on Pokljuka!
