Pokljuka, 5th December 2016 - Pokljuka is more than ready to receive the biathlon family this week which is in its entirety dedicated to this thrilling sport competition. Just four days ahead of the 2016-2017 BMW IBU World Cup Stage 2 the Sports Center Triglav Pokljuka is bathing in the sun and resembles to the top-level sporting competition venue more and more.
The tracks have been ready to welcome the biathletes for some days now. But, the stadium and its surroundings is also getting its finishing touch. RTV Slovenija’s production staff is also on site and has started its preparation for the world feed production. The event is to be broadcast either live or delayed by 16 television stations across Europe. One of them will be RTV Slovenija and extensive coverage is planned on all its media platforms – television, radio and website.
First competition day at Pokljuka is to be a lively and energetic day as more than 2200 pupils are to cheer for the best biathletes in the world. Namely, on Friday Zavarovalnica Triglav, Slovenian insurance-financial group, together with Pokljuka Organizing Committee is to secure free-of-charge bus transportation to Pokljuka and free tickets to Slovenian children coming from different social backgrounds. They are to watch the men’s Sprint competition. While after the race the best cheering poster made by the children will be announced as well.
